この製品は、アメリカ空軍のCWU-7/Pジャケットのライナーとして採用されたCWU-9/Pライナージャケットをベースにデザインされた、薄手のナイロンキルティングジャケットです。CWU-9/Pは本来ライナー用ですが、フロントにはジッパーとスナップボタン付きフラップの二重構造を採用しており、単体でライトアウターとしても着用可能です。また、オリジナルでは胸ポケットのみのデザインでしたが、この製品では機能性を高めるため、ジャケットの下部にポケットが追加されています。軽量で適度な保温性を備えているため、インナーとしてもアウターとしても幅広く活用できます。

フロントは、Conmaticジッパーと、その上をスナップボタンで留めるフラップによる二重構造仕立てで、外気の侵入を防ぐと共にジッパーを保護するつくりになっています。ジッパーのスライダーにはレザータブが付けられ、グローブなどをしていても開閉がしやすくなるようにされています。

襟と袖口はコットン87% ナイロン13%のリブで切替えられています。

ポケット数は3つです。左胸に上に口が開いたパッチポケットx1、ウエスト部分に斜めにくちが開いたパッチポケットx2です(内ポケットは付きません)。

中綿の入ったキルティングタイプのCWU-9/Pは、CWU-7/Pのライナー用として60年代初頭から採用され始めたフライトジャケットの中では珍しいライナー用です。ライナー目的でありながら、フロントはジッパーとスナップボタンの二重構造のため単体でも十分着用可能です。本来は胸のポケットのみですが、機能性を考慮してパッチポケットを追加しています。フライトジャケットに分類される中で最も軽量であり、適度な保温性を兼ね備えるこのジャケットはインナーとしてもアウターとしても活用できる汎用性の高いアイテムです。

Fabric : This jacket features a quilted design with lightweight polyester padding sandwiched between two layers of nylon fabric. The lining is smooth and sleek, making it easy to put on and take off the jacket. Quilting refers to the technique of stitching two layers of fabric together with padding in between. In this jacket, the stitching forms a diamond pattern. Quilting serves both functional and aesthetic purposes: it evenly distributes the insulation, preventing the padding from shifting and creating cold spots, which ensures consistent warmth throughout the jacket.

Interlining (Type of insulation ) : This jacket is insulated with lightweight polyester padding. The inside padding consists of 100% polyester fiber fill, sandwiched between the outer shell and the inner lining.

Placket type : The front features a vintage-style Conmatic zipper closure with a snap-button wind flap (storm flap) for added protection. The storm flap is located in front of the zipper closure, preventing drafts from slipping through. A leather tab on the zipper ensures easy operation, even while wearing gloves.

Pocket : The jacket includes three external pockets: one open-top patch pocket on the left chest and two slanted patch pockets at the waist. Please note, there are no inner pockets.

Collar and cuffs : The collar and cuffs are made from a ribbed fabric blend of 87% cotton and 13% nylon. This ribbed design enhances warmth and adds extra comfort.
